The Battle of Badr

The Prophet's Seerah
The Medinan Period — 2 AH1 min read

In Ramadan of the second year after the Hijrah, the Muslims, numbering about three hundred and some odd, met the army of Quraysh, which reached about a thousand fighters. Allah gave victory to the believers despite their small number and reinforced them with angels, and the chiefs of Quraysh, such as Abu Jahl, were killed. Badr was the Day of the Criterion (Yawm al-Furqan), by which Allah distinguished between truth and falsehood.
