Rules of the Lam in the Name of Allah

Tajweed Rules
1 min read

The lam of the Name of Allah («الله») is pronounced heavy (mufakhkham) when preceded by a fathah or dammah, and light (muraqqaq) when preceded by a kasrah. This rule is specific to the lam of the Name of Allah alone, not any other lam.

Example
تفخيم: قَالَ اللَّهُ، عَبْدُ اللَّهِ — ترقيق: بِسْمِ اللَّهِ
