Pillars & FiqhIt is recommended for the one performing the sacrifice to say the tasmiyah and takbir, saying: «بسم الله، والله أكبر», and if he adds after that: «اللهم هذا منك ولك، اللهم تقبّل مني», this is good. It is also recommended to face the sacrificial animal toward the qiblah, to sharpen the blade, and to be kind and gentle toward the animal, due to his ﷺ saying: «فإذا ذبحتم فأحسنوا الذِّبحة».
