Dividing the Meat of the Sacrifice

Pillars & Fiqh
Udhiyah Rulings1 min read

It is recommended for the one offering the sacrifice to eat from his sacrifice, to give some of it as a gift, and to give charity to the poor from it; and it is best to divide it into three parts: a third he eats, a third he gives as a gift, and a third he gives in charity. This division is recommended, not obligatory, so if he ate all of it or gave most of it in charity, it would still be sufficient for him.
