How to Pray1Intention and Saying Bismillah
He intends in his heart to remove the state of ritual impurity (the intention is not spoken aloud), and says the name of Allah (Bismillah) when starting.
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ2Washing the Hands
He washes his hands three times.
3Rinsing the Mouth and Nose
He rinses his mouth and draws water into his nose, then expels it, doing this three times, combining mouth-rinsing and nasal inhalation.
4Washing the Face
He washes his face three times, lengthwise from the hairline down to the bottom of the chin, and widthwise from ear to ear.
5Washing the Arms to the Elbows
He washes his arms up to the elbows three times, the right then the left.
6Wiping the Head and Ears
He wipes his entire head once, starting from the front of the head to the back of the neck, then returns his hands back, then wipes his ears.
7Washing the Feet to the Ankles
He washes his feet up to the ankles three times, the right then the left, running his fingers between the toes.
8The Supplication After Wudu
When he finishes his ablution, he says the transmitted (reported) remembrance.
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ. اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِنَ التَّوَّابِينَ وَاجْعَلْنِي مِنَ الْمُتَطَهِّرِينَ
