يكبر على كل شرف ثلاث تكبيرات ثم يقول: لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، له الملك، وله الحمد، وهو على كل شيء قدير، آيبون، تائبون، عابدون، لربنا حامدون، صدق الله وعده، ونصر عبده، وهزم الأحزاب وحده.
He would say the takbir three times upon every elevation [rise in the road], then say: There is no god but Allah alone, He has no partner. His is the dominion, and His is the praise, and He is over all things Omnipotent. We return, repentant, worshipping, praising our Lord. Allah fulfilled His promise, granted victory to His slave, and defeated the confederates alone.
